Afghan quilt bloque 4

Hoy toca crochet chicas!. Este es el cuarto bloque de mi colcha Afghan.
Today is "crochet day"!

En esta ocasion no he tomado fotos del paso a paso porque encontre este video, esta super bien explicado, las imagenes tambien son bastante explicativas con lo que se puede seguir bien incluso sin volumen.
I have followed the direccions in this great video this time. 

Creo que es un bloque encantador, y una colchita entera con este punto creo que seria una monada.
I think a whole quilt with this pattern could be very pretty, don't you think?.

Estoy teniendo problemillas con los bordes, es especial cuando tengo que bordear ui punto vareta, no se si me explico bien, intento hacer dos puntos bajos en el hueco, pero no queda muy bien. Si teneis alguna sugerencia os lo agradeceria!.

Perdonad que hoy empiece en ingles, voy a enlazar este post al blog de Modern quilt Guild Ireland y no quiero que se me austen con el idioma!. Este es el mini que he recibido de mi companera de intercambio, a que es precioso? Las fotos no son muy buenas, si lo veis en "tela e hilo " la verdad es que impresiona!. 

I have looked at it a million times by now, I just love it!. I think the selection of fabrics is lovely, the design absolutely fantastic,

No puedo deciros cuantas veces lo he observado, la combinacion de telas me parece encantadora, y el diseno fantastico!. 

 the quilting is just perfect, 
el acolchado me ha enamorado, 

 and what can i say about the fraying fabric!. The more I look at it the more I like it!. 
y que puedo decir de la tela deshilachada en el contorno de cada petalo. 

 Here is my partners signature, am I not the luckiest girl? I told Rae I was going to give a go a this mini, I hope my mini will turn out as beautiful as hers!. 
Esta es la firma de Rae, que os parece? Aque he tenido suerte con mi compi! Le he comentado a Rae que voy a intentar hacer este mini, espero que el mio sea tan bonito como el suyo, Rae ha puesto la barrera muy alta!.

Un quilt y un granero! (A quilt and a barn)

Hola!

Por fin puedo ensenaros este quilt terminado!. Termine de acolcharlo hace un par de semanas, pero tenia que entregarselo a mi madre primero, que es la nueva duena del susodicho. 

Hi there!, 

I can finally show you this quilt!, I finished it two weeks ago but I was waiting for her owner to arrive!. 

Os cuento un poquito? El patron es de la revista Patchwork Secrets, he utilizado un jelly roll de Breakfast at Tiffany's, creo que ya os he comentado en otras ocasiones cuanto me encanta esta coleccion, la unica pena es que no compre mas tela, y no me queda nada de nada!!!!!. 

Shall we go through the details? The pattern is from the magazine "Patchwork Secrets", I have used a jelly roll and a couple metres of white on white fabric. I am sure that most of you have guessed the fabric collection by now!, Breakfast at Tiffany's it is!. I love it!.

Esta acolchado a mano en lineas rectas alrededor de los hexagonos y triangulos, y unas hojitas que recorren todo el borde blanco. 

I have hand quilted it, it is mostly straight lines around the hexagons and triangles to enhance the shape, and a row of leaves on the first border. 

La tela del segundo borde exterior es de color chocolate, creo que no se aprecia muy bien en las fotos. 

The fabric of the second border is chocolate color. 

He disfrutado muchisimo cosiendo este quilt, y no dudo en repetirlo, no es dificil y queda muy resulton. 

It has been a pleasure to sew this quilt, really, it is not difficult and i think it looks fantastic (I know, I shouldn't say that of my own quilt, but it does!, ha,ha). 

Es la primera vez que he trabajado con un jelly roll, es una maravilla!. Y mirad que a mi me encanta seleccionar las telas, cortar, .... pero de vez en cuando se agradece que alguien lo haga por ti!, o no?.

Kimono-style jacket

Hola!
Como llevais el fin de semana? Ya se que con la entrada de hoy muchas vais a pensar que os va a entrar el sarampion!, pero por estos lares aun necesitamos chaquetitas, y paraguitas, ....sobre todo paraguitas!. 
Hi there! I know some of you are really enjoying the good weather these days, unfortunately we are enjoying the rain and more rain, and did I mention the rain? So please don't think that I am crazy if I am still working on jackets at this time of the year!. 

Que os parece la nueva chaquetita de mi enanilla? Como os podeis imaginar a ella la han encantado los Gingermen!, como no, tendre que tener cuidado para que no intente comerselos!!!!. 

Estos botoncitos tan encantadores son uno de los preciosos trabajos de Raquel, que ademas de simpatiquisima tiene un gusto y unas manos impresionantes. 

At least my little monkey is quite happy with her little gingermen, I better watch out, she might be tempted to eat them!, I nearly was. The buttons are made by Raquel, aren't they super cute? 

Me ha costado un poquitin mantener quietecita a la modelo, y mira que he intentado convencerla con todo lo que pillaba!. Es muy exigente!, ja,ja. 

It wasn't easy to bribe the model for a few good pictures. 

El patron es de la revista Irresistible gifts to crochet volume 2. Me ha parecido que estaba super bien explicado, ya he empezado un vestidito del mismo volumen, ya os ire mostrando.

Mini quilt swap

Hola!
Este es el mini quilt que os comente en la entrada anterior, me encanta!!!!. Es una version mini de mi scrap quilt, no se si os acordais de el. Este quilt va a viajar ni mas ni menos que a Atlanta!, donde le espera su nueva propietaria!. 


Hi there!
This mini quilt will be travelling tomorrow all the way to Atlanta!, it is part of the swap organized by the talented ladies behind Modern Quilt Guild of Ireland together with the Atlanta Guild!. 

A mi companera le gusta el color verde, lo que no ha sido un problema, ya que tengo bastantes telas en esa tonalidad. Le he anadido telas en tonos melocoton, esta combinacion de colores me tiene encandilada ultimamente como habreis podido observar. 
My partner likes green, and I have added a touch of peach, which it seems to be my favourite color combination lately. 

Esta hecho a mano, solo he utilizado la maquina para los bordes y el bies. Mide 18"X18". Y tambien esta acolchado a mano con hilo blanco de Gutermann. 

It is mostly hand made, apart from the borders and binding. It size is 18"x18", and I have hand quilted it with white thread.

Y esta vez os incluyo alguna foto del making off, me parecio interesante mostraros como he utilizado las plantillas de acetato para la composicion del quilt. 
Here you have some pictures of the making off, which I always find interesting to watch.

El papel de cocina que podeis ver es el plan del quilt. Me ha servido de mucha ayuda!. 
I have used kitchen paper to help me with the design, what a great help it  has been!. 

Se puede hacer con plantillas de papel, por supuesto, pero yo compre estas porque sabia que las iba a dar mucho uso. Si os interesan las podeis encontrar en Authen-tic. 
In this occasion I have used some plastic templates to help me out with the diamonds, I wanted to be as precise as possible. I purchased them here, should you be interested. 

Las telas son todas de mi stash, para este quilt no se necesita una cantidad enorme de una tela en particular, mas bien retalitos. 
All the fabrics are from my stash, so perfect!. 

Voy a donar dos minis para la feria que se celebra en  mi trabajo en Noviembre, con lo que pronto me pondre manos a la obra. Ya os ire mostrando.

Crochet Along I

Hola!
Cuanto tiempo!, los dias estan pasando tan rapido ultimamente que no tengo apenas tiempo de pasar por el blog!. Eso no significa que no este dale que te pego a la aguja!, tengo algunos proyectos casi casi terminados, un bolsito, un miniquilt, una chaquetita de ganchillo, algun que otro bloque, .... ya os ire contando. 


Hi there!, It is so long since my last post!, the days just go by so quick!. I have been quilting and crocheting, but I haven't got much time to blog though. 


Hoy quiero ensenaros como va mi progreso en el Crochet Along, aun llevo retraso, pero he conseguido llegar a la semana 5!. 


Today, I would like to show you my progress on the Crochet Along organized by Blair. I am catching up slowly but surely!. Here they are the blocks:


Estos son los preciados bloques, 

los vemos por semanas? Primera semana, 
1st week assignment,

Me he decidido por tonos melocoton, grises, amarillitos, verdes, y como no blanco. De momento me gusta como va quedando, no descarto incluir otro color, ya veremos. 
Este bloque en particular me chifla!Estoy pensando en hacer una colchita entera con este bloque, otro proyecto mas a la lista!!!!!, ja,ja. 


I have been using peach, green, grey, yellow and of course white yarn for this proyect, in different shades. I might add more colors as I go along, we will see. 
I love this block in particular, I am thinking in crocheting a whole blanket with it. I might be nice, right?
